Research profile

Current research interests include trust building in intercultural settings, intercultural leadership, employee wellbeing, practices of inclusion, marginalization, othering and discrimination, and intercultural education. My empirical research is inspired by practice theory, aiming to inform existing theories through qualitative methods. My publications include topics such as trust building in intercultural contexts (including the dark side of trust), and boundary spanning practices.

My teaching focusses on courses within the field of international Leadership and include subjects such as Intercultural Competence in organizational Leadership; Critical Cross-Cultural Management, and Diversity Management in the programs of Language and International Studies (LISE) and especially Culture, Communication and Globalization (CCG). In addition, I teach in the course Applied Methods in the CCG program. I supervise MA projects and theses on topics such as intercultural competence, exclusion and inclusiveness, leadership practices, CSR, Employer Branding, trust, and organization studies.

My outreach activities include yearly participation in the Danish Science Festival (Forskningens Døgn), guest lectures on intercultural awareness and communication for other programs at AAU (e.g., IT & Ledelse) and other stakeholders on the municipality level. At times, I support private businesses on subjects such as organizational re-structuring and implementation of Diversity & Inclusion measures.
