Youjin Ruan received her MA in Applied Linguistic and Didactics from Beijing Normal University in 2010, and completed her PhD project in education at Aalborg University in 2016. Her main research interests are learner centered pedagogical design (i.e., task-based teaching and learning, problem-based learning) in higher education, learner motivation, policy and practice in assessment and inclusion, and comparative education.
