Personal profile

Research profile

Research profile:

With a background as a historian, sociologist and Middle East expert with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as academic focal point, my work as a researcher and a teacher is driven by the interest and ambition to work interdisciplinary, strengthen the applicability of my analytical skills and inspire to critical thinking.

Academic:

What motivates me as a researcher and teacher is to understand the complex connection between historical backgrounds for the emerge and mobility of individuals as well as religious teaching institutions, which contributes to spread radical thinking and action. My research focal area is the Jews, who have decided and decides to immigrate from the Jewish diaspora to the occupied West Bank. In continuation of my former research-project, which primary evolves around individuals’ motivation and background to join the religious settlement movement, I have now turned towards religious teaching institutions. These institutions mobilize and socialize individuals to participate in the spread of radical Judaism that support Messianic thinking, which encourage shaping the conflict between Jews and Muslims as religious rather than a territorial conflict.

Teaching:

As a teacher and supervisor, I mostly teach methodology and theory. Through my research, I have applied life stories in interviews and field work as my primary field work methods, in which I also teach. Furthermore, I possess a comprehensive knowledge within theory of science, social constructivism, historical source criticism and diaspora theory. These are all knowledge fields in which I teach and supervise.
