Personal profile

Research profile

My field of research is mainly within the area of (higher) education and the social conditions of learning. My priority is to engage in research with a strong social justice agenda that addresses social inequalities of all kinds. I have an interest in the intersections between medicine and gender, bodies, education, and technology. One of my recent research interests regards how different kinds of knowledge come to be valued in health care and what the implications of this are. What historical, social, and political factors have shaped our medical knowledge and medical education? How do everyday experiences at work interact with health professionals’ moral standpoints?

My work primarily uses qualitative methods, but also incorporates social network analysis and correspondence analysis.
