Research profile

Emil is a PhD fellow at the department of Architecture, Design and Media Technology, Aalborg University. He received his M.Sc. degree in Medialogy (Media Technology) from Aalborg University in 2017, and worked as a research assistant in the Multisensory Experience Lab until 2018, where he initiated a PhD within the lab on Virtual Reality-Based Rehabilitation in collaboration with the Danish municipality of Frederiksberg.

Throughout his studies and research career, Emil has developed and evaluated virtual reality as an assistive technology for a wide range of purposes including Autism Spectrum Disorder in adolescents as well as exploring the motivating capabilities of VR exergames for older adults.

Emil is a member of the International Society for Virtual Rehabilitation (ISVR; http://www.isvr.org), has served as Program Committee of international conferences such as International Conference on ArtsIT, Interactivity and Game Creation as well as a regular journal referee for BMC Medical Informatics and Decision Making, Journal on Multimodal User Interfaces, EAI Endorsed Transactions on Serious Games, Virtual Reality (VIRE) and ISA Transactions.
