Research profile

My current research investigates the intersections between gender, sexual health, and extractive industry in Indigenous communities in the Arctic. This research seeks to elaborate on culturally-appropriate and gender-based analytical frameworks in environmental and social impact assessments.

This research builds on my years of researching the colonial relations and processes of decolonization in Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland), Inuit knowledges and stories, and decolonizing/Indigenous research methodologies in the Arctic.

My doctoral thesis, specifically, investigated the role of seals in the unfolding of Greenland as an Indigenous homeland, colonized territory, and self-governing nations.

Other research experiences: Arts-based/auto-ethnography/particpatory research and methodologies.
