Research profile

My research specialization is higher education as a political and politicised space. Drawing on my experience as an educational developer and a quantitative learning researcher, I approach universities as enacting and as shaping politics and policy through their practices.

My research focusses on three overlapping areas:

  • The digital transformation of higher education,
  • The future of social sciences and humanities,
  • Policy and organization of Problem-Based Learning (PBL).

My research combines practice theory, activity theory, Scandinavian New Institutionalism, and post-structural and neo-material epistemologies in order to understand higher education as an arena and part of broader societal phenomena. Methodologically, I am rooted in the empirical and mixed methods paradigm with expanding interests in discursive and socio-material practices.
