Personal profile

Research profile

I am a professor in Human Centered Informatics at Department of Communication and Psychology at Aalborg University. My research focuses on how people adopt and adapt IT technologies in their everyday (work) practices, what role these technologies play in people's activities, and how IT can support and enable collaboration, knowledge sharing, and learning in specific situations. I work from a qualitative perspective, primarily in the area of health informatics, but increasingly also with learning technologies in higher education. I am particularly interested in the challenges of using systems where IT acts as an infrastructure and mediates the activities of many different work practices.
