Personal profile
Research profile
Currently enrolled as a Marie Curie Fellow at Aalborg University, Denmark, engaging in advanced research on photothermal membrane crystallization. This project, a part of the European Union’s EXBRINER initiative, focuses on the recovery of lithium and magnesium from nanofiltration brine. EXBRINER is implemented through a cross-sectoral Network, composed by 8 European Universities, Research Centers and 4 leading Industrial Companies from 8 EU Countries.
My previous tenure involved a significant role as a Research Assistant under the UNESCO Chair at Qatar University, where I was instrumental in several high-impact projects.
My areas of expertise encompass the development of low-cost thin film nanocomposite membranes, with applications in forward, reverse, and pressure retarded osmosis. In addition, I have made substantial contributions to the synthesis of nanomaterials aimed at enhancing membrane performance, as well as in the design of sophisticated water treatment systems.
A notable aspect of my professional journey includes active involvement in the conception and writing of numerous grant proposals. Demonstrating exceptional proficiency in this domain, we successfully secured funding for four major projects, amounting to a cumulative total of 10 million USD. These projects include prestigious grants such as T2RG, QNRF, and UREP, underscoring my ability to attract significant research funding and contribute meaningfully to the field of membrane technology.
