Research profile

My PhD project "The (limited) space of anger: Unequal conditions of anger among young people across social positions in society" is positioned within the overall research project "Anger: A study of norms for the expression and justification of anger" and is embedded in the subproject "Norms of anger expressions within and across two generations". While my PhD supervisor, Morten Kyed, is studying norms for anger expression in the baby boomer generation (born 1945-65), I am studying the same in the Z generation (born after 1995). In addition, I investigate which norms regulate and justify anger, and whether and how class, gender and ethnicity affect whether anger is recognised as a legitimate expression in young people's everyday lives.

In the sociology programme's bachelor's and master's programmes, I conduct lectures, tutorials and portfolio seminars in the sociology of emotion and qualitative methods. In addition, my teaching consists of supervision and examination of project groups at both bachelor's and master's level as well as conducting exams for the programme's various oral and written exams.
