Research profile

My research interest centers on understanding how people cope with life crises. So far, my research has primarily focused on psychological rehabilitation, grief, and the experiences of caregivers, particularly in the context of acquired brain injuries. Additionally, I am interested in the significance of communities in the context of critical illness and for people who otherwise find it difficult to participate in general communities. My research aims to improve comprehensive rehabilitation practices and support systems for both patients and their families.

In addition to my academic work, I have clinical experience as a practicing psychologist within the field of rehabilitation. This practical experience enriches my research and helps bridge the gap between theory and practice. I also work to strengthen the collaboration between practice, research, and teaching, ensuring better integration and cooperation among these fields.

Teaching profile

In my teaching and supervision, I strive to bridge the gap to practice and research. I teach a variety of courses and am affiliated with the master’s programs KUR (Clinics for Developmental and Rehabilitation Psychology), where I among other things teach courses in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Compassion-Focused Therapy, among other subjects. Additionally, I supervise student projects in psychology and social work.
