Research profile
Recognized among The World's Top 1% of Scientists across All Fields, based on Career-Long Citation Impact (ranked #70747, Stanford University / Elsevier 2025, “Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators").
Demonstrated strong research competence and excellence in Thermal/Fluids Energy Technologies/Systems for Green Transition, evidenced by high-impact publications across a wide range of sectors and topics including:
- Reacting Multiphase Flows: e.g., bioenergy & biofuels, carbon capture & utilization, flue gas treatment, green cement & ceramics, green fuels, spray drying, and waste incineration
- Advanced CFD and Digital Twins: for virtual testing & innovations, for green transition
- Heat Transfer: incl. electronics cooling, phase change materials, thermal radiation, wind turbine icing/de-icing
- Thermal/Fluids Energy Technologies: e.g., moving bed/fluidized bed/entrained flow reactors, pyrolysis/gasification/combustion
While I take pride in my competence, excellence and significant impact, I am much more pround of having earned them through lifelong dedication and hard work.
Teaching profile
- Very Rich Teaching Experience in All Core Courses in Thermal/Fluids: have developed from scratch ca. 3,500 high-quality slides for over 10 different courses (more details in my Teaching Portfolio)
- Supervised a lot of Master & PhD projects. Acted as opponent of PhD defense in different countries, e.g., Austria, China, Denmark, Norway, Singapore, South Africa, Sweden
- Winner of "Teacher of the Year" for a few times in AAU, on the M- and/or E-Study Board as well as on the Faculty level. Nominee for "Teacher of the Year" for some times
