Personal profile

Research profile

My resarch is driven by a passion to advance the future of smart production, and my main focuses is on adaptable and flexible material flow technologies and concepts, including matrix and swarm production, modular production topologies, smart production systems, mobile robot assistants, and skill-based robot programming. Since 2016, I have had the privilege of overseeing operations at the AAU Smart Production Lab and, more recently, the AAU 5G Smart Lab, where I have guided numerous hands-on experiments and real-world tests involving robot assistants and smart factory implementations. These experiences have allowed me to merge theoretical insights with practical applications, bridging the gap between research and industrial impact.

My research journey includes collaboration on four major EU projects and eight national research initiatives, each marked by a high level of industrial engagement. As part-project coordinator for two projects under the Manufacturing Academy of Denmark research program, I have concentrated on demonstrating advanced robotics and smart factory solutions. Through these efforts, I have cultivated an extensive network of partnerships across both national and international institutions; working closely with partners from e.g. WZL Aachen, Daimler Arena 2036, Brandenburg Technical University, LEGO, Danfoss, and Novo Nordisk.
