Personal profile

Research profile

I am part of the Department of Communication and Psychology at Aalborg University, where I am a member of the Organization, Work, and Management (OWM) section. My academic journey includes an MA in Communication and a PhD from the same department.

My research spans three main areas: organizational communication, philosophical foundations of organization studies, and teaching within a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) framework.

In organizational communication, my primary focus is on the interplay between external goal orientation and inherent value orientation. This involves exploring how these perspectives manifest in different contexts, from volunteer organizations to human space flight missions. I examine how activities are perceived either for their inherent value or as means to achieve specific outcomes. This research helps to understand the motivations and interactions within various organizational settings.

I am also interested in the philosophical underpinnings of management and organization studies, particularly through the lens of critical realism. This approach allows for a deeper analysis of the structures and mechanisms that influence organizational behavior and outcomes. By bridging the philosophical foundations with practical applications, I aim to enhance the understanding of management practices and their implications.

Additionally, my work in the field of PBL focuses on improving teaching and student learning. I investigate how students interact and provide feedback within project groups, aiming to enhance collaborative learning experiences. By identifying patterns in peer feedback and suggesting improvements, I contribute to the development of more effective educational practices.

My research is driven by a desire to uncover the underlying dynamics of organizational behavior and improve educational methodologies. I strive to make a meaningful impact on both the academic community and practical applications in various organizational contexts.
