Research profile

Primary focus of my research include clinical research of inner ear diseases within the audiological- and vestibular subspecialties. Current research areas primarily include diagnostics and treatment of Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) with Mechanical Rotation Chairs, Wide Band Tympanometry (WBT) in diagnostics of middle- and inner ear diseases, telemedicine in audiology and Implants for Bone Anchored Hearing Systems. I have co-supervised numerous PhD-projects and I am the author and co-author of 60+ peer-reviewed articles published in international journals. I am certified as an ear surgeon and I have done numerous otological surgeries including e.g. several hundred tympanoplasties, bone anchored hearing aid surgeries, and Eustachian Tube Dilations. Since 2013 I have held the position of Clinical Associate Professor of Otorhinolaryngology at the Department of Clinical Medicine, Aalborg University, Denmark. I am also a Medical Doctor, ENT Specialist, Medical Audiologist, and Neurotologist.
