Research profile
As a researcher, I am interested in how meanings and powerful positions manifest themselves between people in interactions and counteractions. I work with many different types of data and methods. Most often, I am interested in dialogue, conversations and/or journalism and look at how different opportunities and barriers for participation in communities are constructed. I have, among other things, published on the working practices of political journalists, discourses on racism in journalism, citizen participation in newspaper debates, existential conversations in nursing, meta-communication in doctor-patient conversations, and experiences with peer-to-peer methods to reduce inequalities in health.
Teaching profile
I teach political communication, conversation- and interaction analysis, facilitation of communication processes, dialogic (conversation) methods, journalism, and qualitative methods.
As a career/life coach (coaching especially ph.d.-students), I also conduct coachings drawing on a wide range of psychological and philosophical perspectives. My practice and general experience from this are valuable in my work as an academic teacher and student supervisor in the Communication and Digital Media (BA) and Communication (MA) programs.
