I mit Ph.d.-forløb beskæftiger jeg mig med barrierer og muligheder for sund og aktiv aldring for en sårbar befolkningsgruppe; ældre flygtninge- og indvandrermænd. Metodisk arbejder jeg ud fra principper i aktionsforskning/community-based participatory research (CBPR), med henblik på demokratisk inddragelse og empowerment samt udvikling af lokalt forankrede bæredygtige aktiviteter og sundhedsfremme. Derudover er jeg særligt optaget af intersektionalitet og dets betydning for sundhedsnormer og muligheder for deltagelse i fysisk aktivitet.
