Personal profile
Research profile
My research has a cornerstone in narratology, the science of storytelling and its dynamics. Specifically, I have been focused on the act of narration, enunciation theory, in light of Bakhtin and consequently how the subject positions themselves.
Another main interest lies in shame and guilt (and related affects). I have worked with these in literature and film as well as in sociological contexts and in this regard how guilt and shame have changed historically and can be seen as a seismograph for our culture.
Finally, in recent years, I have also focused on communication from groups that position themselves in opposition to power and the elite, such as anti-vaccination groups, partly based on Bakhtin’s conceptual world.
Overall, my research is predominantly theoretically grounded—both in literary theory and media theory. However, the work primarily aims to develop analytical categories and conceptual formations.
Teaching profile
I have taught in all semesters at both the bachelor's and master's levels. In particular, I have taught all the analytical subjects: Text analysis and communication productions; interpersonal communication and communication processes, and most variations of discourse analysis.
Additionally, I have taught philosophy of science with a particular focus on structuralism, hermeneutics, phenomenology, post-structuralism, social constructivism, and pragmatism.
Furthermore, I teach social psychology and cultural theory, including the history of cultural theory and symbolic and pragmatic cultural theory.
Administrative profile

I have been responsible for the programs under Communication and Digital Media in Copenhagen since 2013 - with a break from 2017-19.
In addition, I have been the leader of the research group Communication Dynamics from 2017 to 2022.
