Hanne Bruun Søndergaard Knudsen is an authorized psychologist, cand. psych. PhD, leader and supervisor at Børnesprogklinikken. She is an associate professor in reading and developmental psychology, a former schoolteacher and PPR psychologist and for special classes for children with language and reading difficulties. She teaches developmental psychology and the assessment, intervention and inclusion of children and young people with DLD, ADHD, autism and reading difficulties. She also teaches psychological testing, the psychological profession and is affiliated with the psychology master's program, the Child Language Clinic, under the Clinic for Rehabilitation, where she also supervises psychology students during their internship.

Hanne Bruun Søndergaard Knudsen's research focuses on developmental language disorders (DLD), reading comprehension, executive functions, intervention for and the psychosocial consequences of growing up with language disorders, writing instruction (Self-Regulated Strategy Development, SRSD), and intervention for children and young adults with complicated grief. She is the leader of the research group Reading Cognition, which aims to investigate the cognitive foundations of reading with the use of eye-tracking. Internationally, she has previously participated in several European research networks on multilingualism and DLD, DLD, reading/writing, and is currently part of a European research network (COST Action CA21131), which aims to establish a multilingual corpus of eye-tracking reading data, which can be used to test theories of reading cognition. She also participates in the research project MeRID (Measurement Reliability of Individual Differences in Sentence Processing: A Cross-Linguistic Perspective, funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation, SNSF, and the Croatian Science Foundation, HRZZ, which aims to investigate reading when the same person is tested multiple times and whether reading patterns are similar across languages.
