Teaching profile

My teaching responsibilities are mainly but not exclusively connected to the courses Academic and philosophical introduction course (1st semester), Ethics (1st semester), Environmental philosophy (4th semester) and Philosophy of sustainability (8th-9th semester). I furthermore function as the coordinator for the praxis semester (9th semester) and for the 10th semester during which the students write their master theses. Additionally, I function as the master thesis advisor for a number of students every year.

Research profile

My research focuses on environmental and animal philosophy as well as philosophy of health care/medicine. In both environmental and animal philosophy I am particularly interested in ethical problems arising from human interaction with the "non-human" world - i.e. animals, nature, life-as-such. I am philosophically interested in a number of concret practices related to this area: husbandry, re-wilding, hunting, animal behaviour science and much more. Furthermore, my research in the philosophy of medicin ranges from ethical perspectives on diagnostics to the concept and practice of human enhancement technologies. As well as definitions of disease, quality of life, justice and the commodification of health care.
