Research profile

Iben Bredahl Jessen is an associate professor in Media and Communication. Her research areas include market communication and media aesthetics both from a contemporary and a historical perspective. Her research focuses on the cultural meanings of market communication and how messages about everyday commodities are orchestrated by media aesthetic means. Recent publications include studies of multimodality, legitimation and authenticity in the branding of food and beverages. She is head of the research group Aesthetics, Culture and Media.

Teaching profile

Iben Bredahl Jessen is a teacher and supervisor at the bachelor’s programme in Communication and Digital Media and at the master’s programme in Communication. She is engaged in course and semester coordination and study programme development.
