Research profile

I am Associate Professor in Strategy and Management at Aalborg University Business School (AAUBS), member of the research group Strategy, Organization and Management (SOM), and I am co-founder of Strategic Management Lab (SML)

My research is on business development with focus on strategy work and leadership - especially formulation and implementation of strategies in public and private organisations. In SML we have initiated and completed a large study of strategy work with more than 1700 organisations in Denmark and mapped their strategy work including their strategic focus areas, collaboration with stakeholders and involvement of managers and employees. The study includes both top executives, middle managers and employees. The survey will be repeated periodically.

Another research focus is on implementing new technology especially the interaction between digitalization and leadership including the impact of digitalization on the business model, the strategy, and how management can deal with the necessary changes in the organization. I have also conducted a qualitative study on implementing new technology in different organisations in the public sector.

I am part of a network in New Nordic Management and I am doing research in the strategic and managerial consequences of using volunteers in public organisations and associations.

In the last couple of years I have been part of a large research project in Academic Leadership - especially in European Business Schools. 

I have coordinated Master-programmes and I teach and supervise in strategy and management on bachelor and master level.

At AAUBS I am Vice Head, PhD.-coordinator and staff manager for primarily senior researchers.
