Mission statement

My  long-term mission is to develop the concept “Personalized Mechanistic Pain Medicine” to understand and phenotype the underlying mechanisms for chronic pain. Additionally, I study factors that modulate pain mechanisms and aims to target these mechanisms using tailored interventions to provide pain relief for patients with chronic pain.

Teaching profile

I mainly teach pain science, regulatory aspects of clinical trials and statistics. I am coordinating several master semesters and I coordinate several courses at the bachelor and master level (within the Clinical Science and Technology education and the Medicine with Industrial Specialization education). Additionally, I coordinate the Translational Medicine students on the Medicine with Industrial Specialization education.
