Research profile

I am a professor Organization Studies at Malmö University and external lecturer at the Department of Politics and Society, Aalborg University. I am the leader of the knowledge environment Organization Studies at the Department or Urban Studies, Malmö University. My specific research profile are built on storytelling, ethics, learning and power in organizations. Particularly I work from 1) Foucault’s understanding of power and his later ethical writing concerning practices of the self, 2) Arendt’s political philosophy concerning the relations between storytelling, space of appearance, natality and her writings on thinking, action and judgment, and 3) Benjamin’s original philosophy concerning the relations between space, materiality and storytelling. I am currently engaged in developing a terrestrial ethics for sustainability and develop concepts and methods for leadership development and management education, concepts and methods for change management and Sustainable organizing. I have a broad profile as a researcher and teacher. I have extensive experience in developing and running educational programs. I believe in working from practices in organizations in continuous education programs like the master programs we run at Aalborg University and I believe in the problem-based learning method as a way of bringing theory and practice together. I have served as Head of School for the School of Consciousness and Change from 2011-2013, as study leader of the Master in Public Governance (2008-2011) and has been responsible for the accreditation and development of educational programs including the BA in Organizational Learning and Master in Public Governance. I have a research network all over the world including USA, Europe, Australia, South Africa, Colombia and Brazil.
