Research profile

I lead the Center for Clinical Data Science (CLINDA) at Aalborg University, where we focus on developing innovative infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and digital tools for multimodal data fusion and predictive modeling in healthcare.

With over 30 years of experience across academia, the public sector, and industry, I bring a broad and interdisciplinary approach to data science. My research spans applied probability, statistics, and machine learning, with applications in medicine, agriculture, and telecommunications. 

Teaching profile

I have taught statistics at all levels, from bachelor, master’s, and PhD courses, covering basic probability theory, applied statistics, and machine learning.

Now, I primarily supervise master’s and PhD students in projects focusing on methodological development and the application of artificial intelligence in the healthcare sector. Current projects include variational autoencoders, unsupervised clustering, synthetic data, and optimization of algorithms for the detection of HRD (homologous recombination deficiency).
