Personal profile

Research profile

My research focuses on clinical and translational urology, with a particular emphasis on urethroplasty, reconstructive urology, and the use of biomaterials for tissue regeneration. I work closely with clinicians and researchers to improve treatment outcomes for patients with urological diseases by developing new techniques and tools. Additionally, I focus on the implementation of validated patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) to ensure patient-centered care throughout the treatment process.

PhD Project

I am currently working on my PhD, which encompasses the following research projects:

  • Treatment of urethral strictures: Evaluation of drug-coated balloon dilation in a randomized clinical trial for treatment-naïve patients with urethral strictures.
  • Development of synthetic grafts: Investigating the use of synthetic biomaterials for urethral reconstruction, including their ability to promote tissue regeneration in preclinical models.
  • Cross-cultural adaptation and validation of PROMs: Adapting and validating patient-reported outcome measures for use in clinical evaluations of patients with urethral strictures in Denmark.

My research contributes to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being. By developing innovative treatment methods and improving surgical techniques for urological diseases, my work aims to enhance patient health, improve quality of life, and reduce surgical complications.
