Personal profile
Research profile
I research primarily within the field of children and families, where I am concerned with well-being and development with a special interest in how experience and knowledge from practice can improve social work. My interest is shaped by many years in practice as a social worker, consultant and manager as well as an indignation for professional development; an insistence that we can always do better in social work for citizens, employees and managers who are involved. I use qualitative methods such as focus group and individual interviews, ethnographic fieldwork with observations and mobile interviews, as well as important attention to the context, e.g. through the use of document studies.
Teaching profile
I have been affiliated with basic and elective education in social work at Aalborg University since 2020. I teach, supervise and examine at Bachelor of Social Work and Master in Vulnerable Children and Young People primarily focused on children and families in vulnerable positions and organization, quality assurance, evaluation, and practice development of social work.
In addition, I have many years of experience with teaching and dissemination in practice as part of development work particularly within the public settings.
Administrative profile
Since 2020, I have been the coordinator at Bachelor of Social Work, which involves coordinating module team with representatives from each of the four main areas: social work, psychology / psychiatry, law and social sciences, as well as teaching planning with the preparation of semester descriptions, schedules and start-up/evaluation in conduction of module courses.
