Rikke Ørngreen

Research profile

Rikke Ørngreen is a professor at the Department of Culture and Communiation. At the department she is memeber of the research laboratory for IT and Learning Design (ILD-Lab) and head of the Research Center for Video. At Ilisimatusarfik (University of Greenland) she is head of Iluliaq, the Greenland research centre for learning and education and heads the research group at the institute for learning, Ilisimatusarfik.

Her expertise lies in methods, processes, and tools that support the design, organisation, implementation, and evaluation of digitally supported learning in education and organisational change. Her research focuses on digital, hybrid, and distance learning, as well as on co-creation and participatory design-based methodologies. In her research, Rikke works with creative audiovisual techniques, utilising video and immersive methods (including XR, VR, and AR). These approaches aim to incorporate data-driven and participatory formats that promote individual learning and competence development, group collaboration, and knowledge sharing at the organisational level.

She has extensive experience leading collaborative projects and has also held organisational leadership roles, including personnel and research management. Through her work with grant applications and collaboration agreements with private and public organisations, she has gained substantial experience in research management in both national and international projects.
