Rasmus Magni Johannsen is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Sustainability and Planning at Aalborg University, affiliated with the Sustainable Energy Planning research group.

His research focuses on energy system modelling and the development of scenarios for 100% renewable energy systems. He works across local, national, and international contexts, addressing the integration of solutions and approaches such as district heating, energy communities, and industrial decarbonisation pathways. Through interdisciplinary methods, he explores how energy systems can be designed to meet climate goals while balancing technical, economic, and social considerations.

Rasmus teaches in both Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes at the Department of Sustainability and Planning, as well as in Bachelor programmes at the Department of Energy.
