Personal profile

Research profile

My research is in the field of social work, targeting vulnerable groups on the margins of society and their encounters with the social system and/or civil society. I have a special interest in vulnerable groups who live a life across national borders and thus the transnational and cultural encounters they experience in their search for help or lack thereof. Among others, I have researched sex-trafficked women in Danish prostitution and convicted adults with a developmental disability. In my qualitative research, I work with citizen perspectives and co-research as a method.

Teaching profile

I am mainly affiliated with the Master's programme in Social Work, where I teach topics such as global social work, transnational social work, global social policy, social policy interfaces, decolonising social work, qualitative methods and theory of science. Furthermore, I teach in the Master's programme in Criminology on topics such as social authorities and forensic psychiatry.
