Research profile

Microbial life is everywhere impacting everything from planetary processes to human health. Understanding the microbial communities driving these processes are vital for reaching a sustainable future, yet most bacteria are still to be discovered, known as the microbial dark matter.

I focus on analyzing bacterial communities with metagenomics and machine learning to improve human health and illuminate the microbial dark matter by improving the recovery of bacterial genomes.
