Shuai Zhao (M'19-SM'24) received the B.S., M.S., Ph.D. degrees in electronic and information engineering from Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi'an, China, in 2011, 2014, 2018, respectively. He was a Visiting Researcher with the University of Toronto, Canada, from 2014 to 2016, and with the University of Texas-Dallas, USA, in 2018. From 2018 to 2022, he was a Postdoc with AAU Energy, Aalborg University, Denmark, where he is currently an Assistant Professor.
He has been focusing on artificial intelligence and system informatics in power electronics, particularly in physics-informed machine learning, digital twin, condition & health monitoring, and reliability engineering. He has published more than 80 technical papers, with his paper on AI applications in power electronics being highly cited with over 80,000 downloads. Dr. Zhao currently serves as an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Vehicle Technology and e-Prime Elsevier. He was a Guest Editor for IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Industrial Electronics. He leads multiple research projects including the Villum Experiment grant and European Horizon Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions project on physics-informed AI applications in power electronics. Dr. Zhao has delivered more than 20 invited tutorials and seminars at IEEE conferences/workshops and universities worldwide.
