My research area is digital leisure. It involves the study of the use and significance of digital media. Digital leisure encompasses both specific media areas (comics, video games, e-sports) and specific subject areas (science fiction, lightsaber fencing, superheroes). The research approach is informed by ideology critique, fandom theory, play theory, domestication theory and media theory.”
