Personal profile
Research profile
My expertise is in sustainability and planning with a focus on the interplay between economic knowledge and politics. I work with statistical calculation techniques and their ability to create political realities, with a particular focus on energy and how energy has been constructed as an economic governance object. Additionally, I have researched economic growth as a powerful circulating reference and political ideas about sustainable transition as narratives of varying strength. Most recently, I have become involved in research on plant-based foods and the specific barriers this new product category faces.
Methodologically and theoretically, I belong to the field of 'Science and Technology Studies' and consider my research as empirical philosophy—empirical studies of the metaphysical nature of various objects.
I teach courses in ecological economics, institutional frameworks for sustainable technology development, and supervise in a wide range of areas, from institutional barriers to sustainable transport planning to strategies for promoting biodiversity in cities.
