Research profile

I am a PhD Fellow within the DFF-funded research project ‘From Soil to Wine Glass: Labour Mobility Regimes and the Possibilities for a Just Green Transition’. Together with PI Associate professor Marlene Spanger (AAU), co-PI Professor Don Mitchell (Uppsala University) and Post-doc Magnus Andersen (RUC), the project deals with labour in the production, supply and sale of environmentally sustainable and natural wines, documenting and analysing the conditions of labour and asking how they support and/or undermine a just green transition.

My PhD research examines the starting point of a particular natural wine ‘journey’, which begins in the vineyards in Italy. Combining ethnographic methods and approaches from labour geography and migration studies, I seek to generate empirical knowledge on how natural wine production, and particularly the manual harvest of wine grapes, is done and by whom, taking the case of wine production as a starting point to examine the interlinks between sustainable agro-food systems and labour mobility.

Teaching profile

I teach topics related to migration studies and particularly labour migration, gender studies, critical theory and qualitative methods. 

In addition, I supervise MA students in the program of International Relations according to AAU's PBL approach.
