Personal profile
Research profile
He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in control theory from Shandong University (SDU), China, in 1991 and 1994, received his Ph.D. degree in control engineering from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (BUAA) in 1998, with the PhD thesis focusing on the control analysis and synethesis of hybrid dynamic systems. He had been UNU/IIST Fellow at United Nation University/International Insitutue of Software Technology (Macau) during 1995-1996 with focus on the formal methods for hybrid systems, post-doctor at Delft University of Technology during 1998-1999 with focus on the fault tolerant flight control, post-doctor and Assistant Professor at Aalborg University during 1999-2003. Since 2003 he has been an Associate Professor at Aalborg University, Denmark. Currently he is the Chair of Mission for Sustainable Fuels, Chemicals and PtX, and leader of Offshore Process Control and Cybernetics Research Group at Department of Energy. He is IEEE Senior Member, and also had been secretary of IEEE joint Danish Chapter of Control System Society (CS023) and Robotics and Automation Society (RA024) during 2012-2023.
His research areas include fundamentals of control theory, mathematical modelling and identification, fault detection and diagnosis, fault tolerant control, hybrid dynamical systems, AI & machine learning, autonomous robotics, as well as diverse industrial applications of advanced control. Recent years he has been extensively committing research and development of advanced automation and monitoring on the produced/injection water treatment for offshore OG production, as well as other waste water treatment systems.
