The Tattarillo Award is an international competition for M.Sc. and Ph.D. theses and dissertations organized by Engineers Without Borders (Florence), the Environment Councillor of Florence, and in association with River Publisher.

The main objective of the Award is to encourage technology students and the scientific community to research themes related "Appropriate Technology for Sustainable Development in the Global South" - where such expression is meant broadly, encompassing any reality where human development and access to resources is limited, independently of geographical location, or reasons (historical, political, economical or natural).
