Accelerated digital transformation at University: Coping with COVID-19

Project Details

Description

The Covid-19 pandemic has paved the way for accelerated innovation & change. Especially within the university sector which is currently being transformed into an experiment in online teaching. The situation constitutes an extreme case that can elucidate digital transformation as part of a crisis management situation that requires immediate response from all organizational levels. Our case is the Faculty of Social Sciences, which has turned 100% digital in the wake of Covid-19, provides a unique opportunity to study digital transformation in real time and follow up on the long-term impacts of the transformation. Qualitative & quantitative data will be used to examine the accelerated digital transformation of university teaching activities. This project contributes to extant digital transformation literature with new empirical insights as well as theorizing about the management of immediate response-ability and subsequent sustain-ability of accelerated digital transformation in a crisis.
