Description

Abstract:
Consumption of fossil fuels causes environmental pollution and global warming. One of the green sources of energy is hydrogen. Common methods of hydrogen production are generally the cause of air pollution. Electrolysis is a clean method of producing energy. On the other hand, the use of Renewable Energy Sources (RES) is increasing day by day. Utilization of these sources especially wind and solar require equipment such as converters that connect them to whether electric line or consumers like electrolyzer. We can keep the hydrogen production path as far away from fossil pollution and carbon emissions as possible by considering energy production by wind turbines or solar panels and supplying electrolyzer energy.
In our research, modular converters for hydrogen production are designed and developed. This research aims to design an advanced control method in modular converters interfacing electrolyzers that gives stable voltage and low ripple current to the electrolyzer to produce high-quality hydrogen and have an improved lifespan for the electrolyzer.
