Description

This project of is a part of the project "Determination of the critical band/auditory filters at low frequencies". The objective is to obtain a detailed description of auditory tuning and the factors affecting it for centre frequencies located in the range of frequencies below 100 Hz. Two main experiments have been carried out. Initially psychophysical tuning curves were determined for third octave bands within the range 20-80 Hz, using tone and noise maskers. To more fully characterize low frequency sound perception of each subject, an equal loudness contour measurement, at closely spaced frequencies in the range 20-125 Hz, was carried out. The experiments were carried out and documented in 2012.
