Project Details
Description
The goal of this project is to develop and implement a cost-effective approach ensuring coastal protection, while simultaneously promoting the biodiversity and productivity of coastal ecosystems under climate change. This will be accomplished by designing, testing and evaluating an innovative NBS for coastal protection in Denmark, consisting of a barrier reef protecting the coast from rising sea levels and powerful storms, while enhancing biodiversity and fish production by providing substrate and habitat for numerous organisms. The NBS for coastal protection is expected to partially replace the use of destructive beach nourishment approaches.
