Consensus that big data analytics can provide business value by improving company performance is starting to emerge, but many companies are still struggling to extract value from their big data initiatives. Research currently offers little guidance, as research into how companies can build the capabilities required to successfully extract value from big data is scarce. This research project attempts to add much needed knowledge on this topic. The project is conducted together with LEGO, which is currently in the midst of developing big data analytics capabilities as part of a digital transformation journey.
