Description
A new approach to life cycle assessment (LCA) for the building sector will need to challenge the commonly applied product-scope to account for the interactions with other systems, and to develop concepts and methods for using this information in improving decision-making. This project, “Building-LCA of SCALES (Sustainable, Circular, And Low-Emission Systems)”, seeks to address two distinct areas of research: 1) the product/larger-system-scale conundrum, which is underrepresented in the current application of LCA in the building sector, and 2) development of LCA information for use in decision- and policy-making in the building sector.
