Chronic hypoxia

Project Details

Description

Human tumour cells are tested for in vitro susceptibility to irradiation and chemical carcinogens. The purpose is to determine whether long-term hypoxia changes the cells' phenotype. So far it has become clear that chronic hypoxia enhances the cell killing effect of chronic beta irradiation. This work is carried out in collaboration with Professor Erik Pettersen, Oslo.
