Connectivity in one-dimensional ad hoc networks

Project Details

Description

This project is dealing with statistical aspects of connectivity in one-dimensional networks. The aim is to quantify the amount of connectivity in networks formed by car to car communication, i.e. cars communicating with each other through radio transmissions. The positions of cars on a highway are modelled by a point process, and various ways of quantifying the connectivity among these cars are considered, for example the number of cars that can be reached from an arbitrary car using radio transmissions. Results on statistical properties, such as distributions and expectations, are obtained.
