Project Details

Description

In 2022, AAU researchers designed and conducted an experiment with a shopping robot that supports shoppers in sustainable decision-making. The findings show how cultural values impacted individual preferences and decision-making in Human-Robot Interaction. The current project transfers this experiment to a different cultural context in Namibia (Southern Africa) to investigate the possibilities and challenges of culturally-aware robotics. We will ship a robot to Namibia, adjust the experiment/robot to the cultural context, conduct the experiment, analyse the data and compare them with the former study. The project fosters interdisciplinary collaboration between the SSH and Technical Faculty (AAU) and Namibia University.

The project is supported by the Carlsberg Foundation, grant CF24-0015 and Aalborg Robotic Challenge (ARC)
