Project Details

Description

Low-frequency noise from installations can be especially problematic in noise sensitive environments, as it can be perceived as particularly annoying by some people, and often proves difficult to attenuate effectively. The problem is made worse by the fact that low-frequency noise in rooms often results in large variations in sound pressure in different locations, and is more easily transmitted through building structures. At low frequencies, the long wave length results in, that traditional noise abatement installations require a large space to function, which impedes their implementation into compact units. The main goal of this project is to develop components suitable for implementation in compact units, with the objective to attenuate low-frequency noise.
