Project Details

Description

Wind power is a very successful technology with steadily increasing importance. Wind energy installed throughout the world generates the equivalent electricity need of about 50 million Europeans. And this is just the beginning. In 2020 wind power is expected to deliver 12 % of the global electricity demand, create 2.3 million jobs and make a substantial contribution to reduction of the CO2-emmisions. Wind energy competitiveness can be further improved through further cost reductions and collaboration with complementary technologies (e.g. massive energy storage, better grid interfacing). With this project we seek to satisfy the steadily increasing need for skilled PhD candidates within the core competences of wind energy.
