Developing institutional and digital structures to improve quality, scope and critical mass of doctoral education, and research and knowledge transfer in Moldova

The RKTDei project aims to contribute to a right environment for digital networks and services and sustainable and innovative entrepreneurism in the Republic of Moldova (MD), through developing institutional and digital Research and Knowledge Transfer (RKT) structures to attract PhD candidates and improve quality, scope and critical mass of PhD candidate training and education and RKT and to prepare Doctoral graduates for high level research careers in private and public sectors. To achieve these objectives, academic staff must be actively and successfully engaged in RKT, supported by an effective digital RKT platform. However, staff RKT capacity in inter-disciplinary training and Doctoral supervision, industrial PhD training and supervision and an efficient RKT institutional and digital platforms are non-existent in Moldova. This project aims to remedy this deficit.

Needs analysis conducted in the pre-application phase revealed a serious gap between policy aspirations of HE in Moldova and HE capacity to deliver effective research and knowledge transfer (RKT), including in the field of doctoral education and doctoral supervision. RKTDei addresses these needs by developing and implementing institutional and digital RKT enabling structures to improve quality, scope and critical mass of PhD candidate and supervisors training and education and RKT in Moldova, to prepare Doctoral graduates for high level careers in research and the private and the public sectors.
