Environmental assessment of increased use of wood in buildings

Project Details

Description

The built environment is one of the main contributors to the increasing level in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Wood in construction is becoming more and more common in the Danish building practice as a strategy to reduce the GHG emissions of buildings.
This PhD project focus on establishing the potential of an increased use of wood in buildings to reduce the environmental impact of buildings. The PhD project will develop research-based knowledge as well as a framework to the Danish building industry on how wood is used most efficiently in buildings to reduce the environmental impact when allowing for methodological issues essential to LCAs of wooden buildings.
